Sue Rush, who made a presentation on "Can Nutrition make a difference?" at our Aberystwyth Conference on 31st March 2007 reminds parents and teachers of the importance that children drink plenty of water daily. She is also happy to undertake learning assessments or give nutritional advice for individuals (children or adults), as well as undertaking assessments for special arrangements for exams etc or workshops etc for conferences. 'THAT READING THING'

Saturday June 28th .Canolfan Hamdden Maldwyn, Newtown: 'That Reading Thing'--

 (The programme can be adapted down as low as Year 6 in primary school).

A basic literacy method for disaffected teenagers and young people who struggle with reading.It aims to be especially suitable for those from marginalised groups and people with very low literacy, for example, those who cannot make progress in courses where literacy is embedded in another activity. Provides a training package and materials that can be used by non-literacy specialists working with young people, as well as school and college tutors.

WORKING WITH YOUR CHILD AT HOME

Saturday 25th October, 9.30 - 12.00

Venue:    Rhosnesni High School, Wrexham

Presenter:    Neil MacKay

The course is designed for parents and their children (aged 7-13).  It will show parents how to:

  1. support spelling, study reading and writing
  2. Use the techniques with their children under the supervision of Neil Mackay who is an international expert on dyslexia.
